Why do you need a VPN?
It is becoming increasingly risky not to protect yourself, especially when streaming Kodi. Third parties such as your internet service provider often monitor and track your online activities and this is where protecting yourself comes in.
A VPN is software that encrypts and masks your IP address to appear on the internet service provider network as a private, secure, and anonymous user.
Importance of installing a VPN
Privacy and security
A VPN masks your IP address to keep/hide its real identity on the internet service provider network. When the masking happens, you will appear on the ISP network as a secure, private, and anonymous user.
Bypass location restriction
Installing a VPN on your device will enable you to bypass restrictions due to location. As we know, the majority of the streaming platforms use location restrictions to protect some of their content. Also, some website makes use of location restriction as well. However, with a VPN installed on your device, you will be able to change your location to a different one via changing to a new server (location.
Minimize internet service provider throttling
A VPN helps to improve the streaming quality of videos by minimizing throttling. Throttling makes videos lag or buffer. That said, installing a VPN on your device will help to minimize throttling which is often caused by an internet service provider.
Beat ISP tracking or monitoring
Wonder how Advert companies got to know a little bit of chat you had via your inbox? Your internet service provider often monitors and tracks your browsing history and most times give to share it with third parties. The only way to bypass this is by installing a VPN on your device. A VPN will encrypt and mask your IP address and as such make it difficult for your internet service provider to track your online activities.
